Tyler State Park 2024

Tyler State Park

Tyler State Park 2024
Date: Sat, Apr. 13, 2024
Location: Tyler State Park, Tyler TX (Map)

Join us on Saturday, April 13, at Tyler State Park for the LAST orienteering meet of the season. Tyler State Park in the Piney Woods of East Texas offers some of the best of Texas orienteering. The popular park features lots of shaded hiking trails, some of which were built by the CCC back in the 1930’s. A small lake with a swimming beach is situated in the middle of the park and offers the chance to take a refreshing dip after the event. Most of the park is covered by open and runnable pine and oak forest (with help from recent controlled burns). However, the terrain is also complicated, with hills and reentrants carved by small spring-fed streams and erosion gullies, plus, complex mountain bike trails.

Be sure to attend our free beginner's clinic. Check the schedule for details.

Note: All park visitors 13 & older will pay a $6 daily pass entry fee at the entrance gate.
